    Default Ahern Awaits IRA Response

    http://www.iais.org

Speaking at the annual Fianna Fáil 1916 commemoration at
Arbour Hill cemetery, Mr Ahern said the Government was still
awaiting a response from the IRA relating to a total end to
    violence.

He also described current armed republicanism as "a false
ideology", and said that in order to avoid a "historic
missed opportunity" the paramilitary organisations had to
make "a radical response" in relation to the "rule of law"
    and human rights.

For the full story please click on the link provided. Ahern in my opinion has some nerve when he nor Blair have pushed the DUP into standing by their end of the commitment.

Bertie cares very, very much who they vote for. If not enough of them vote SDLP, Fianna Fáil is going to have to organise in the North and the Dublin Government's thirty year strategy of using the SDLP as its front in the Six Counties will be in ruins.

I can't see FF organising in a foreign jurisdiction!

They won't have any choice. Dublin cannot countenance a situation where Sinn Féin is the dominant force in nationalism in the Six Counties. As long as there is hope of an SDLP revival, that will be their preference. End the SDLP and Sinn Féin is the only significant nationalist party.

At that point the Dublin Government either has to create a new front party or the Southern parties have to organise themselves, with Fianna Fáil likely to lead the way.

Or force Sinn Fein into arguing the economic merits of partition and set its northern base in contradiction with its southern counterpart.

Let the double Fer's organise in the North and see how far they get. It'll only divert their party's funds away from the 26 county organisation into a bottomless pit. I can't see how they can win seats from Sinn Fein in the 6 when they are losing them to SF in the 26.

Exactly, all they could hope to get would be stoopers, and not even all of them would go to FF.
