Default Where is best place to finding jobs in political/social affairs/research/NGOs?

This is a general inquiry on how to find paid jobs as social/political campaigners , as opposed to looking for any specific job at the moment. But if an ex-political hack, researcher, advocate was looking for a challenging, interesting, varied, job which would leave change after paying the mortgage: what would be the best way of going about it?

    1) Where is the best website/newspaper/misc. place to find jobs which would be of interest to political addicts?
    2) Is there any point in the current economic climate?
    3) Is there any point because it is who you are and who you know?

(I did google usual recruitment agencies, a few NGOs, charities and political parties).

    They look for you.
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

There have been some interesting jobs in a similar guise advertised in the Irish Times in recent weeks.

Good luck at the moment though, most charities, think tanks and NGOs are under serious pressure re funding.
