Today is International Womans Day.
A day when we should all reflect on the contribution women make to societies around the globe, and their struggle for equality, especially in backward third world countries.
Oh, and in Ryanair.
Why in Ryanair?
Well, just for example, Ryanair employs thousands of female cabin crew, many of them economic refugees from eastern europe. They are employed on low waged temporary contracts with no right to unionisation and no protection under Irish Labour Laws thanks to their temporary status.
They are further demeaned by a boss who promises free 'blow jobs' on his aircraft, and flogs soft porn calendars displaying these unfortunate women semi naked.
But, it doesn't end at petty discrimination against low paid females.
Ryanair employs over 2,000 pilots.
Less than a dozen of them are women.
Aer Lingus employs around 450 pilots, and 20% of them are female, including the Chief Pilot!
Ryanair tells its female pilots who fall pregnant to get an abortion.
Thats from first hand experience. Straight from the horses mouth.
Any socially concious woman should consider all of the above when selecting her next flight.
