Cé hiad na polaiteoirí is mó a sheasann an fód ar son na Gaeilge sa lá atá inniu ann?

Eamonn O' Cuiv, gan dabht. Ceapaim go bhfuil Sile De Valera, Dinny McGinley agus Pat Rabbitte ana-mhaith freasin

Aontaim leat faoi Éamon Ó Cuiv. D'éirigh leis Acht na dTeangacha a chur trin Dáil. Déanann sé sin difrocht mhór do na cearta atá ag lucht na Gaeilge maidir le seirbhisi ón stát.

Sin an gnáthleagan, ach úsáideann Éamon an leagan Ó Cuiv. D'úsáid a athair an tOllamh Brian ó Cuiv an leagan céanna.

Bhios sa Daingean nuair a bhi Sile De Valera mar Aire na Gaeltachta. Bhi na boithre go diall agus bhi uimhir na ndaoine ag dul in airde. Dá bhri sin, ta an-mheas agam uirthi.

Cheap mé go raibh "Ó Caoimh" á úsáid aige le deanaí.

An bhfuil? b'fhéidir go bhfuil an ceart agat. Ach d'úsáid sé féin agus a athair an leagan Ó Cuiv ar feadh tamall fada.
D'úsáid a athair e mar bhi se ag iarraidh litriú na Gaeilge a shimpliú i.e. 'v' in áit 'mh', mar sin d'úsáid se an t-ainm Ó Cuiv chun pointe a dhéanamh.
