Default Eircom cuts off 60,000 phones in Mayo.

More than 60,000 eircom customers in Mayo were without phone landlines today due to a fault that occurred in software at the Castlebar Exchange.

Eircom repair crews have been attempting to restore the service, but a spokesperson said this afternoon that progress had been slow.

The spokesperson was unable to give an estimated time for restoration of services.

Did you write that subject to imply they intentionally cut Mayo off?

Re-Nationalise Eircom! It's the only way to guarantee adequate telecomunications in rural areas and small towns.

Could this attempt to isolate Mayo from the outside world be the start of a Flynnasty take?

Day 1: "Mayo isolated from Rest of World: Rest of World breathes sigh of relief".

Day 2: "Flynns take over Mayo: Pee - President for Life, Bev - Minister for Finance, Audrey - Minister for Transport".

Day 3: "Flynns deposed and executed".

What is the point of a fine, the customer will only end up paying one way or another.
