Like: Traditional pubs, culture, language and music etc (as well as irish idioms of the english language!)

Dislike: The complete loss of any form of decency in Irish politics, public life and the lack of foresight of the government and population as a whole with regard to the recession!

    Like.....hmmmm

Dislike loads stuck up Irish women with D4 accents even though they are from Leitrim, and the majority now who look at you with suspicion like you may be a potential rapist should you perhaps engage in conversation, skangers Knackers, Premiership jersey wearing fools, obsession with our near neighbours, corrupt FF, our lack of humility which we have lost with the Celtic Tiger-keeping up with the Jones syndrome which contributed to this mess. Church bashing liberal leftie trendiness crap etc.
    Lack of public facilities space.

Irelands anti-intellectual celebrity culture oh and the weather.

likes - the sound of our language, the trad. music, the openness of the people, the western seaboard, hurling, the freedom we enjoy to speak as we do about our so-called leaders,
dislikes - weather, destruction of the countryside, disdain for our own language and other manifestations of lack of culture, that stupid faux-American accent beloved of so many young wans and general aping of their cultural norms, tedious blaming of the Brits for everything but aping of so many of their cultural norms, lack of proper regard for science/technology/entrepreneurship, clientist politics

and what Irish Rover said above

Connemara. Every single aspect of it.

    Connuaght loosing to Munster...
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

I'll second: GAA, music, community spirit, traditional pubs, gaeilge, humour, friendliness (what's left of it)

Other dislikes: the neuve landed classes (the Ulster planters would be proud), protectionist taxation on farm land, extortionate property prices, rip-off rents and modern day tenaments.
