    Default Obama's Biden Gamble

If weekend speculation that Senator Joe Biden is heading Obama's VP short-list proves accurate, it will represent a huge gamble by the Democrat candidate.

Biden, you may remember, once plagiarised a speech by Neil Kinnock and was forced to withdraw from his party's presidential nomination race in 1988. Imagine the Republican attack-dogs getting their teeth into that piece of meat.

Also, being a Senator for Delaware, Biden does not represent Middle America in a way that Obama surely needs his running-mate to do in order to balance the image of aloof elitism.

In Biden's favour, of course, is his expertise on foreign policy and his consistent call for the US to use diplomacy instead of military power.

He would make an excellent Secretary of State.

Governor Tim Kaine of Virginia would be an outstanding choice as VP running-mate.

Talking about VPs at this stage is like talking about how much is going to left of Florida in the morning, you just have to wait and see. I think Biden, Bayh et al aren't going to cut the mustard. Outside their own states they are nobodys.

Despite all her underhanded tactics he should just get it over with and pick Hillary. Then he gets to be president, McCain goes back to the Senate and the Republicans take long holiday from decision making and upsetting the world.

Biden has gone to Georgia I believe so lets see how his diplomacy works. He was a fool 20 years ago and is as useless as tits on a bull. How many primary votes did he get.

A bit of plagiarism, then they are ideally matched.

Well cheers to Squire for that video. We have seen this movie up here in Massachsetts and it does not have a happy ending. Put you money on McCain here in the most democratic state in the Union

Biden believes life begins at conception apparently.

    That is comical.

Biden thinks it begins at conception, and Obama "isn't qualified" to have an opinion as to when it starts.

Are they deliberately trying to offend their left-wing base?!

Sad news, Beau Biden, former AG of Delaware and son of the Vice President has passed away today of brain cancer. He was a husband and father of two young children and just 46. RIP.

Beau Biden, son of VP Biden, dies at 46 - CNNPolitics.com

Joseph "Beau" Biden III, an Iraq War veteran who served as the attorney general of Delaware and was a son of Vice President Joe Biden, died Saturday at the age 46, the White House said in a statement Saturday night.
He was the second child of the VP to pre-decease him. He lost his first wife and a daughter in a car crash in the early 70s. Very sad for any parent to have to bury their children.
