Cavan senator Joe O'Reilly racks up 28 trips | Ireland | The Sunday Times
"A Cavan senator is the most widely travelled politician in Leinster House, having clocked up 28 foreign trips in 32 months at a cost of €37,314.
In November 2017 alone, Fine Gael’s Joe O’Reilly visited London, Paris and Copenhagen, running up travel, hotel and subsistence costs of €2,211.
In March that year, he spent three nights in Madrid, incurring flight and accommodation charges of €573 plus €837.98 in subsistence allowances and expenses. A fortnight later he flew to Paris overnight, costing €272.24 in travel and accommodation plus €438.84 in additional expenses."
So Joe, a former Primary school teacher who was rejected by the voters in 2016 but for some reason is on the Labour Panel in the Seanad, likes to travel abroad a lot on the taxpayers largesse.
Is there any good reason at all that this trough snouter, whose most famous claim to fame in this Seanad has been to oppose the opening of pubs on Good Fridays, is leaving the country so much on foreign jaunts to do god knows what and stick us with the Bill?
