So you are the one who is silly.
In what respect are N.I unionists different to English ??

True enough, but I wasn't talking about domination.

People were saying that Ireland is either the same as England, or is part of England. Neither is correct.

Ireland in 1916 was part of England. It was similar to the way say Alabama is to the USA. It was identical to England:
same language, same Parliment, same Army, same currency, same legal system, same sports, same culture.
the only difference was religion really, Southern Ireland was Catholic, N.I was Protestant.
There was Gaelic games and also Gaelic language and music, but they were not widely used.

We had the same currency till 79.
The European Exchange Rate Mechanism finally broke the one-for-one link that existed between the Irish pound and the pound sterling; by 30 March 1979 an exchange rate was introduced
We appreciate the move by the Government today and remind ourselves that it is a bail-out by taxpayers for the banks. Pearse Doherty

No - Ireland in 1916 was part of the UK (United Kingdom).

It was not "similar to the way say Alabama is to the USA". At the time there was no state called England, and even if there had been, Ireland would not have been part of it. Ireland was part of the UK, not part of England.

To be consistent you should have said that "it was similar to the way say Alabama is part of New York" which shows that your position is stupid. Both Alabama and New York are parts of the USA, just as Ireland and England were parts of the UK.

So says an ignorant and arrogant english Troll attempting to "LORD" over us Irish in an Irish history forum on an Irish centric website.

You are a pathetic fool - roll on the day when my country Ireland, gets rid of the parasite that is your country, england.

England's phony UK is dying the way its empire did - the people of Ireland never wanted it. Our country was shanghaied into your cesspit of a political entity. We voted out in 1918 and english scumbags like you waged a war against us - but democracy will prevail, and we will have our country back and very soon.

Ironically Sinn Fein no longer believe in the Independence of Ireland

They now think we should be part of another Union

    - the European Union.

1/ Well that is not true.

2/ Well that's not true either - as far as I know SF warned the Irish public about the true nature of the European project before the 'Southern Ireland' State and the northern Ireland statelet even joined.
