    Default Can you twerk?

Mods, I've put this in Social Affairs, since it is a social matter.

So for the first time ever, FIFA have awarded two Ballons d'Or; one for men and one for women.

The men's award went to Luca Modric. Deserved award for him. He's been a creative force in the Madrid setup since he was freed from bondage at a small North London club who don't even have a stadium. Very obviously Croatia's best player in their historic run to the World Cup final this past summer.

The women's award went to Ada Hegerberg - approaching 300 career goals and 3 champions leagues at the age of 23. 10 goals off breaking the all-time CL goal record which she'll probably do this season, she got 15 last season. She is an incredibly talented player who could be one of the best ever.

This is a positive step for "official soccer". Recognizing that there are millions of fine female soccer players across the world, and that their contributions to the sport merit an award alongside the men, is to be congratulated. Many of you will remember Stephanie Roche's fantastic goal that made the shortlist alongside Robin Van Persie and Jaimes Rodriguez for the Puskas award a few years ago. Some of you may have even voted for her.

However, in FIFA's ongoing quest to insert both of their feet into their mouth, the presenter of the award to Ms. Hegerberg did.....well, he.....he asked her.....oh feck it, just watch it....

History will record with the greatest astonishment that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening.

I've no idea what you're on about. Some sort of alt-right nonsense, one imagines.

Of course there are millions of fine male soccer players across the globe too. I am just highlighting that there are many people of both sexes who are fine players.

In fairness if he hadn't said it nobody would have know she won or indeed that there even was a female award !!
All the offended should reflect on the fact that a total of 14,00 attended the female CL final. Nobody cares about womens football , if you want that to change go to watch women's football rather then whining on the internet.

The Man Utd owners got rid of the women's team over a decade ago and the media and soccer fans virtually ignored it.

PSG and Man City were taken over by adminstrations with a disgraceful human rights record yet women and men have no problem playing for them for money.

Soccer really is a rotten sport. Rotten to the core.

No real surprise that dinosaurs like that host are involved with the sport.
We appreciate the move by the Government today and remind ourselves that it is a bail-out by taxpayers for the banks. Pearse Doherty

Man.U has brought back their women team this season, they play in the 2nd tier of the English women super league.

Miss Hergerberg if she was quick enough should have asked the presenter could he "snort like the male chauvanist pig" that he is

And giving this award is part of that process.

    It was outrageous. End of.
