Default Sinn Fein Nua - special Ard Fheis to endorse new leader

The confirmation of Mary Lou McDonald as Sinn Féin president today could be a historic day for the left in Ireland and it is being streamed on Twitter, Facebook and You Tube. By-passing the 'official' media may be the way to go for those with an alternative viewpoint to the same old cliche-ridden news discussions that are the staple diet of RTE/Newstalk.

I await the new leader's first speech with some anxiety as if she declares for a socialist Ireland, I may have to get off the fence and join.

    Ireland first! is the call.

Cis whites Catholics saying Ireland first is very American.

It's the first time Ireland has had two cis white Catholics as the leader and deputy leader since...

End of an era. Oh of course they are women. So it's two cis white Catholic women.

If you describe yourself as an "activist" on Twitter are you an activist, a self regarding poser or a Walter Mitty. Cause you're definitely one of them.

Interesting discussion about the going around the establishment media. The fake news media as they would have been called before that term became loaded with Trump.

But fake news they were and fake news that are.
They are clever to speak directly to their base themselves without every 5 mins rte talking about the Adams, hard men and whatever shyte Sean o Rourke might add.

I wonder if they will have an armalite, seeing as how they never need a ballot box?

Might be as well to wait and see what she means by socialism - after all Both Bertie and T B.Liar claimed to be socialists....

What time will the results of the votes be announced? [Bated breath]
