    Default EU Plastic Tax Likely

Barely masquerading as an environmental protection measure, and EU plastics tax is very likely to be coming our way soon.

EU plans new Europe-wide tax on plastics to help plug 20bn Brexit blackhole | The Independent

EU plastics tax could help plug Brexit blackhole | Euronews

EU to consider plastic tax to plug gap in post-Brexit budget - BBC News

I said the one thing that will definitely happen to us, in this country, because of Brexit, is a sharp increase in prices and that is even taking into consideration, a favourable exchange rate, from a customer's POV!

Whether this new tax will be imposed on manufacturers or more directly on us, the customer, we will end up paying through the nose in any case!

One way which the Eurocrat Rubbish could mitigate the effects of Brexit, would be to curb the lovely gravy train, they have their snouts in, but we all know that will never ever happen!

The Brexit Blackhole, 12 Billion every year and increasing, to be leeched off ordinary EU Citizens is quite a bit!

It's a Trojan Horse to allow the Mandarins in Brussels to get their foot in the door of controlling each States tax base

We will have to keep the lid on this one

    - because once they open it up

    - we will never get the top back on again.....

An opportunity for the nEU empire to virtue signal whilst suck more mooney out of the people.

the problem for the nEU empire, is that many countries already have a plastic tax. Including Britain, incidentally.

And besides the problem of plastic containers is now much worse than plastic bags.

I have noticed a few news articles about plastic on beaches etc

Then I heard that China has enough and wont take any more.

The fact is, that the waste China takes has already been through our recycling centers in most cases.

    Why an extra charge?

The idiots who don't think plastic is an environmental problem have never taken a walk along a beach.

The attitude to disposable packaging has to change! And remember what a tax did for the appalling situation with low-value supermarket plastic bags.*

*It solved the problem almost entirely practically overnight.

Because cleaning up after oneself takes effort, as anyone who's ever done the washing up before knows.

I think someday soon even the most staunch republicans will miss the UK's influence in the EU.

An EU tax? 'cos we don't pay enough already?
    The more things change....

Wouldn't a tax on plastic force manufacturers to be more creative with what they use as packaging. Some of the packaging absolutely takes the piss.
The Germans have the idea. Many of them take the excess packaging off in the supermarket and leave it behind.
