Thread: The Bray Wanderers Own Goal thread

Default The Bray Wanderers Own Goal thread

Not content with turning their season around on the pitch, Wanderers who usually prop up the table are now setting tongues wagging off the pitch. While the FAI tackle the Athlone shambles, it seems farce is heaped on farce by the bucket load down Wicklow Way.
Bray invoked the spirit of 1916, North Korea and Jackie Healey Rae not to mind Conor McGregor as they battle to sell the ground they don't own and ask the council to build them one for free while they pocket the difference.
Yes, that's the true Irish spirit that we fought for in the GPO a century or more ago. Johnny Ronan must be laughing all the way from the bank again,

It's even more fun to read the three stories in chronological order!

He is a developer doing a property play and losing. Bray UDC won't hand him the Carlisle Grounds to build apartments and tbe FAI declined to back the play, so this all happened. I really think this nonsense is designed to force the FAI into removing them.

I'm fascinated to hear what this plan is. The next Ray Houghton please

"There are doubters to our plans but, rest assured, we are going to give the Club over to the Trust to be owned by the people of Wicklow as part of the construction of the new facilities."

It sounds like the "people of Wicklow" will be left holding the bag after all of this ends in tears.

If these bozos think all of this is going to be a roaring success, let them stake their own money on the success of the enterprise.

They sound like members of the Trump family.

Do they actually pay any rent to Wiclow Council? They have a brass neck to expect that the owners of the land that their current ground is on would rezone the land so that it could be sold and the profits given to the tenant.

Strong rumours that Wexford Youths/Mick Wallace Enterprises have put in a bid! If successful, Mick plans to store them in his secret arms silo beneath the family shop in Wellingtonbridge.

If the property developer who currently controls Bray Wanderers does not get his way and withdraws funding liquidation is the only option. Debts can be written off with the lease and staff transferred to a new entity. Only then can the Bray supporters retake control of their club under a new entity like the Shamrock Rovers 400 Club.
