Default Aung San Suu Kyi oversees mass rape and murder in Myanmar

Aung San Suu Kyi, long an idol of those interested in human rights and democracy and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, is now in power in Myanmar. How is she governing?

Myanmar is committing genocide against the Rohingya in the Rakhine region of the country. The army is systematically raping and murdering the muslim population there in an attempt to drive these people out of the country.

Suu Kyi has become an apologist for the military, claiming the Rohingya are setting fire to their own homes, and presumably raping and murdering themselves.

    Here's a video of these auto-atrocities.

How does the west's fans of Suu Kyi respond? Silence.

.... and 17 soldiers or police were murdered only a month ago.

Its important to remember that most of these so called "Rohingya" are actually illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.

The army claims they are illegal immigrants, but most arrived before the formation of Burma during British rule of the whole region in the 19th century. It would be like Ireland persecuting Unionists and claiming they were illegal migrants.

Her ability to act is somewhat restricted but her silence in the face of what is taking place is unforgivable. But the western media will be slow to criticise her. They don't like to knock down that which they have built up.
Can't say I ever really warmed to the woman, what we were shown of her was always a bit too good to be true.

What we need is some useful idiots to demand the US invade Burma. Aid-workers, feminists, no-borders activists, lefty journalists, Islamophiles and the like.

I am no big fan of religion but in our own history persecution of Catholics were justified on the grounds that Catholicism and liberty were incompatible.

The British armed the Rohingyan immigrants from what would become Bangladesh during the Second World War with the intention of having them fight the Japanese, but instead they massacred around 50,000 local Arakanese Buddhists using these weapons.

Thats both true and 74 years ago. The women being raped today were not involved.
