Default Bev Flynn's partner Tony Gaughan owes Irish taxpayer €40 Million

According to files released in Bristol last week Bev's partner Tony Gaughan went bankrupt in Bristol last year over a debt of €12,310 while owing €40m to the Irish taxpayer. Oh dear, life is so unfair to Mayo's favourite family isn't it. With FF not in govt Bev or her partner wouldn't be able to avail of the good fortune she had when she to only pay €1.24 million of the outstanding €2.8 million to our 'impartial' broadcaster RTE over her libel case* against them in 2007 (Ahern, FF and RTE of course denied that there was an stroke involved in accepting less than half the sum from her - right ).

So will the people of Mayo stand behind the Flynn clan in their hour of need ?

    Flynn's partner had €40m debt

Follow the money in this country and it ALWAYS goes back to state support, be it tax breaks, state contracts or the state manipulation of certain markets etc. Free market my eye.

It's funny how many of the "entrepreneurs" connected to power who were buying up vast tracts of land, trophy homes, Range Rovers, etc., were all doing it on money they were never going to have to pay back.

For a decade we were continually driven to excess as the cost of living exploded because "we were worth" it, now it's become very evident that our brightest and best - the uneducated/unqualified/inexperienced but plucky "developers", "bankers" and "entrepreneurs" were by-and-large all spending other poeple's money.

Their real skill was in doing it in a country and under an administration that was going to make sure they never had to pay back a cent.
    The more things change....

Can't think of a more appropriate person to read from an altar the scripture about a rich man passing through the eye of a needle than the class acts father.
