Default Meat is murder: Peta's Irish campaign based on a human leg

Peta to do media campaign in Ireland based on a human leg

PETA plans Dublin ad showing human leg on plate - RTÉ News

Fury over ad 'inspired' by discovery of man’s remains in Dublin recycling plant
PETA said that the idea for the advertisement came after the discovery of the male body parts in the Thorntons Recycling Centre last Thursday night.

PETA said it is "in negotiation with local advertisers" to place the advertisement on billboards in Dublin.
Not as cute and cuddly as their Save the Sea Kittens campaign: Save The Sea Kittens! | PETA.org ...but likely quite effective/controversial

How do you feel about the campaign ?
Is the leg theme unduly insensitive ?

Personally I am fine with it but would question its efficacy

To be really effective they should spit roast a farmer outside of the Dáil.
In 1908, in London, at the Olympics, Irish American Martin Sheridan announced “This flag dips for no earthly king," when the US team paraded past the royal box.

If god hadn't intended for us to eat animals he wouldn't have made them out of meat.

Did they throw it into the recycling bin after the photoshoot?

It would work better if the leg was severed with bits hanging out of it... or better still if they used a mockup of a load of human corpses and various bits hanging up in a butchers shop...

As it is... not that effective... imo.

Stupid ad. You could put an uncooked leg of lamb on a plate and I wouldn't eat it either. But if you cook them both medium rare and have the right spices then it would all be fine.

How effective are these ads? Have they ever resulted in a Soylent green moment of someone running out of a restaurant screaming "steak tartare is animal!!!!!"
