Nice to see this case back in the headlines. Those of us who lived through the whole farce that was the Kerry Babies tribunal thought all that was sorted out and the cockamamie theory of PC Plod that there were 2 babies was exposed as the delusions of incompetent policemen. Apparently not!
Seems the retired Detective Inspector in charge of the original case has reiterated his idiotic theory that two babies were involved and is calling for a DNA check on the body of the second child found at the time. This idiot, who advanced the theory of "superfecundation" to support his contention, continues to defend the indefensible. Leading gynaecolgists said that a woman who had the condition that he claimed she had would have been grossly distended. However that did not deter DI Clouseau who explained it all away by claiming that "native Dublin women look hugely pregnant, while a lot of country women do not look pregnant at all". To think this guy was a cop for 34 years. I wonder if he actually solved any crimes?
