Default How to reduce unemployment - Create more free Labour!

How does one reduce the unemploment in Ireland?

Its simples and its a tried and tested measure thats worked so far to fool the masses and promote how great Fine Gael and Labour are!

    First we had

    FAS

    Then came

    WPP

    Followed by

    Jobsbridge

    Then came

    TUS

    Now introducing the all new

    GATEWAY

If one free Labour scheme wasnt enough just create 5 of them!, Gateway is even more special as like TUS its designed to get the long term unemployed of the dole and cleaning streets for their dole. At the end of the period of their slave labour they get to sign back on the dole as brand new applicants! What a great way to reduce the long term dole lists and look like great people!

Heres a little message from the CSO

    Way to go Enda!

Just what sort of jobs can people obtain to help bolster them and help them back into the real jobs market at the end of their sentance?

The types of projects to be worked on under Gateway include (but are not limited to) the following:

    Village Enhancement Schemes
    Landscaping
    Tourism Ambassadors
    Control of animals
    Libraries
New projects - Brown Field Site Remediation

ITS THE KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY ILL TELL YA!

Sign up now! or just wait for FG to come round and fetch you!

I'm really delighted that you managed to include a reference to Nazis in the OP. This place really doesn't have enough of that.

My mates brother did slavebridge last year in the hope of getting some IT experience. He was exploited from start to finish, minimal and I mean minimal IT experience.

I think he got one week out of the 9 months. The rest of the time he was working in the distribution area of the company, slaving away shrink wrapping produce on pallets, fork trucking them into the back of lorries, sweeping the floor, helping with deliveries.

When the 9 months were up, he was back on the dole.

These schemes are only there to massage the figures.

I got work through a scheme twice in my life. Both times I was kept on. So they do work. Of course there are abuses but that's an argument for reform/auditing not for abandoning attempts to get people working.

And the crunch of it is he would have been a new applicant when signing back on, so they can claim long term unemployment is falling.

If tradesmen wont retrain let them sweep the streets for their dole. We can't have these people living in a dream world where they will all work again in construction. It isn't happening.

Is this your idea of irony?

You got work twice and you were kept on. Could you explain that one to us?
