Default When Muslims helped the starving Irish

Given the negative slant of comments here about Islam, I thought it would be good to give a counterpoint story. The Ottomans sent a lot of aid to Ireland during the Great Famine. They had to circumvent the British to do this because the British, having sent far less were embarrassed by the generosity of the Ottomans.

The food arrived through the port of Drogheda and it's interesting that the crest of Drogheda FC commemorates this 160 years later.

Is there any other source for this story, I thought it was debunked some time ago?

So why bring it up if you didn't want to derail the thread?

I just wanted to correct the thread title. No derailing of thread, if I was I would have answered his question. You get it?

A potato blight. There was plenty of food in the country but it had to be sold to pay the landlords.
