Default Are the ULA prepared to lose their salary and seats over the property tax ??

It is one of the regulations of the Property Tax is that a person could lose their Tax Clearance cert if they refuse to pay the property tax. To receive a salary as a TD you must have a Tax Clearance cert. So will the ULA force the issue all the way to losing their salary as a TD and even jeopardizing their seats ??
Follow the money in this country and it ALWAYS goes back to state support, be it tax breaks, state contracts and the manipulation of markets for the gombeen class.

The money will just be deducted from their salaries and they can call a press conference and proclaim the injustice of it all because they never paid it voluntarily.

I'm not sure that's the case.

Good point. They'll still all have plenty left over from their €92,000 each, anyway.

That's their dilemma of course. I wouldn't condemn them if they pay as a last resort in order to continue as elected reps. After all they would be no use, or at least their effectiveness as campaigners would be diminished if they were to lose the media profile that their status as TD's affords them.
Meanwhile, those of us who can obstruct this disgraceful legislation can push as far as we dare, to defeat it and those well dressed thugs who impose it on us.

It's hard for people who are devoid of principle save self-interest to understand that there are those who believe in things and are prepared to pursue them.

It's even harder to understand how self-proclaimed socialists can oppose a property tax.

Would failure to get a Tax Clearance Cert bar them from standing in the subsequent by-election, though?
