    Default Alan Shatter's Fake Jewellery.

A report in today's Sunday Independent (front page) states that "one of two watches stolen from the home of Justice Minister Alan Shatter has turned out to be a counterfeit Rolex."

At a cross border seminar attended last October by the Minister, PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Drew Harris said, "when you buy counterfeit goods, you are providing funds for organised crime."

Mr. Shatter as chair of the EU Justice Committee is currently the political figurehead with responsibility for combating the importation and sale of counterfeit goods.

Minister Shatter said in the Dáil recently, that Gardai were working to "disrupt the activities of those involved in this type of criminal activity."

In fairness, perhaps he didn't know himself. Are there any more details?

I really tried to come up with a good one liner but I couldn't. I'll just see what y'all write instead.

Even by Sindo standards, that's sad. "Shatter bought a fake Rolex 20 years ago".

    Whatever next?

    Then he's very gullible

Did he report it as the counterfeit watch he bought in Phuket?

Any chance we could merge all the daft Alan Shatter threads into one?

Perhaps, but It happens. I think more of the story would be needed to make any judgement on the purchase or obtaining of counterfeit goods.

    Think about it?

Yawn, Thought this was a typo in the OP piece claiming that he'd lapsed from his religion.
