Default Why are taxpayers supporting pro-immigration charities?

Asks Ed West in the Telegraph. It's a reasonable question, given they are already well funded by big business seeking to expand their pool of cheap labour. West makes the reasonable point that given public opinion is generally for less immigration (as is the case in nearly every country Pew surveyed around the world), it is rather Orwellian that their taxes funds are going to fund organisations to "change minds".

Taxpayers should not be supporting charities at all. A tax is an obligation. A charity must be a choice otherwise it is not charity.

When you say support a charity do you mean that the tax payers are providing money to charities or simply not taxing charities?
