    The doom porn merchants have been silenced. The Dow has hit an all time high passing 15,000 points yesterday, with one analyist hinting at the index rising to 18,000 within two years..........

    Meanwhile Germany has seen its industrial output beat market expectations..............

    There's no downturn for the hedge fund managers and bankers that's for sure. The ordinary person won't see a cent of this though.

    Does that mean there's an end to austerity, or are workers still going to see an erosion in earnings and terms and conditions so the super wealthy can live off their huge Dow Jones?

    Hardly, I've been told often enough there's no money. That's why I have to take a paycut.

    Downturn for some, bumper returns for others.

    If you print 75 billion dollars a month and hand it to financial institutions, it does tend to push up the Dow.

    Another example of how divorced international financial affairs are from the real world. Not kicking the whole rotten institution into touch in 2008 was a missed opportunity to start afresh with some other way of running things.
