    Default Newspaper Headlines

Possibly the best headline of the year this year from Richard Burden at The Ulster Gazette in Armagh writing about a proposed new rail project and showing himself to be a big Queen fan............"OVER 100 MILLION..Is this the real price? Is this just fantasy? Caught up in land buys. No escape from bureaucracy." Absolutely feckin brillant! Just wondered if anyone has heard any better .
Here's alink to the BBC article about it.

Actually that was originally written about a Liverpool v QPR match in late sixties in which Ian Callaghan ripped OPR apart and it ran... "Super Cally goes ballistic .Rangers (QPR) are Atrocious."

Don't have great respect for The Sun but they did have some great headlines. This one from the 80's.....a story where a member of the metropolitan police who when it was discovered that he had had a sex change ran with the headline ........NO NOBBY BOBBY LOSES JOBBY!

Loved the Irish Suns headline after last years Tyrone win over Derry: Red Hand's in Command.

Being a film fan, I've always liked Stix nix hix pix all the way from Variety in 1935

No great play on words, I'll admit, but one that definitely makes you scratch your head at pub quizzes.
