Default Car bomb outside French embassy in Tripoli.

    News just breaking from Libya.

'France's embassy in Libya was hit by what appeared to be a car bomb on Tuesday, injuring two guards in the first such attack in the capital Tripoli since the end of the 2011 war that ousted Muammar Gaddafi.'

Source:French embassy in Tripoli hit by car bomb: embassy source | Reuters.

This is an disturbing and yet interesting development in Libya, considering the French were instrumental in the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi.

France was one of the countries that aided the rebels during the insurrection in Libya. Nice way for them to be repaid - not!
If you continue to elect idiots in elections, don't be surprised when the result is an idiotic government.

Anothe episode of utter stupidity by Sarkozy that is backfiring in a brutal fashion.

But hey....the Chinese oil companies got kicked out, and the French oil sector got to move in. A (hollow) corporate victory.

This attack is apparently in retaliation for the French action in Mali.

At least the oil will be privatised, that is all that matters. Remember, the French are one of the biggest buyers of Libyan oil - they were certainly not helping the Libyan people.

Silly Gaddafi, thinking that he could use the oil money to raise Libyan living standards to the highest in the whole continent instead of letting foreign multinationals scavenge it.
