Default PUP- Republicans must drop hopes of united Ireland to help reconciliation

Nationalists need to acknowledge that Northern Ireland will remain an integral part of the UK for the foreseeable future if a process of reconciliation is to work, the Progressive Unionist Party has said.

Setting out proposals for healing sectarian divisions in the region, the PUP said it had to been driven by society, not politicians.

The party, which has links to the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF), put forward its vision for reconciliation amid ongoing political stalemate between the main parties at Stormont over a strategy to bring communities together

Aprils fools was on the first of the month and yet the uvf front is making demands for the purposes of 'reconciliation'

to be honest, I think not orchestrating mob attacks on the short strand would be a much more productive start

A minor party with little or no influence.

imho there is nothing wrong with some one aspiring towards a UI as long as they follow democratic and peaceful means. However as only the intelligently limited believe that a UI is achievable in the short to medium term, (the flip side being the union isn't under threat!!) It really is past time our elected Representative's stopped playing the sectarian head count game and actually worked together to improve NI...

Perhaps when they drop their links to unionist terrorists Republicans MIGHT listen to what they have to say. In the meantime there's about as much chance of SF dropping support for a UI as the Butcher's Apron flying 365 days above the Dome.

Looks like the fleggers have infiltrated the Pups.

Give up on a UI? Go lick the windows clean ya fek'n skangers!

I asked them this question on Twitter the other day, I hope that's not where they got their policy.

"No reconciliation unless Republicans embrace the UK?"

Do yourself a favour and get over yourselves Billy boys.

The Independent Monitoring Commission has found that the IRA army council is 'no longer operational or functional'.

In its report this afternoon, the IMC declared that the IRA has disbanded its terrorist structures and relinquished 'the leadership necessary to wage war'.

The watchdog's declaration today that the IRA campaign is 'well and truly over' comes ahead of crucial talks aimed at securing the future of Northern Ireland's power-sharing government.

Ballix, they are demanding that Republicans give up a UI, otherwise there'll be no reconciliation.

    See the difference?
