Default Live : Obama at Bostons interfaith service for victims [CNN]

It will be interesting to see how the US presidents responds to the current issues affecting US security and whether he can resist the temptation to preach politics from the pulpit at 11 am Boston time today.

He is expected to take centre stage at this interdenominational event to be held in the citys Roman catholic cathederal of Holy Cross.

If he DOESN'T "preach politics from the pulpit", he will be blamed for not sufficiently acknowledging the social-political implications of this mess and giving an empty speech..

If he DOES "preach politics from the pulpit", he will be blamed for politicizing a tragedy. Yeah, I already saw that moronic, dressed-up-like-a-prostitute Repblican numpty on Fox News making this claim already.

So he's screwed if he does and screwed if he doesn't.

    Yes .
All he can really do is to sympathize with the victims and their families.

Stray beyond that and its controversy .

Just expressing his sympathy for the victims, and saying that 'we will do everything we can to stop terrorism' - or similar to that - should be enough. If certain commentators don't like that, then that's their problem.

It would be even more interesting if you could create a thread about President Obama without making your own politics quite clear.

The cathederal was designed by Irish architect Patrick Keely.

The building measures 364 ft (111 m) in length and is 90 ft (27 m) at its widest. It is constructed of Roxbury puddingstone with gray limestone trim and reaches a height of 120 ft (37 m)

That's interesting. More of that, I say.
