Thread: Baluchistan earthquake - 7.8 Richter magnitude

Default Baluchistan earthquake - 7.8 Richter magnitude

A rather powerful earthquake has shook the Iran/Pakistan border area, with reports of aftershocks heard as distantly as India and Qatar. Thankfully, the surrounding area appears to be mostly uninhabited desert, but the city of Zahedan, with a population of half a million is within 125 miles of the epicentre.

If the locals aren't of white European stock nobody is interested.

I didn't want to be the one who said it, but will be interesting to note how the coverage of the respective stories unfolds in the coming days.

Allah must be displeased. Well, either that or the margins of two convergent tectonic plates meet in that area.

Indeed. But I was commenting on a seismic event in a largely unpopulated area. I see no need to don a black tie before so doing.

We're in the top three givers to foreign aid per capita. That would suggest most of us do care.
