Default Primetime - childcare creaming ordinary workers......

Moving on from the fact that ordinary workers are taxed to the hilt, now the fact that working families are being screwed to try and keep the show on the road........

If childcare costs more than someone earns why should they do it, and more importantly why should the rest of us pay for it?

This was always the case, childcare costs had nothing to do with cost of running the crèche, but all to do with calculating how high parents were prepared to go to keep the two jobs, mostly as an investment in the future.
    The more things change....

Cut your cloth according to your measure. whomever earns most or is happiest in job stays working. Less demand will reduce costs. Or else invest heavily in community creches via property tax as a job creation measure.
The choice is yours...fear or love.

Exactly, raise your own bloody kids or don't have any.

However... you should not NEED two incomes to afford a home nor should you be allowed borrow for one based on more than one income.
Our prev govt has failed a whole generation of families and this one is openly trying to do the same.

I totally agree with that in terms of community creches, where the parent leaves there child in a massively subsidised creche and goes to work in the local petrol station, but childcare should be subsidised for all parents to some degree where you should have to be earning a decent wage for it to be of benefit for you......

That is what is going to happen from now, but there is an entire generation out there who cannot survive without 2 incomes, you can hammer them into the ground, but exactly how much money do you want to have to pour into the banks ?

Because you will end up paying one way or the other........you can pay to have their children minded or you can pay to fix the holes in the banks when they default on their loans......you decide.
