Default Unqualified 27 year old with no experience to be appointed Principal of a primary school in London.

In London an unqualified 27 year old teacher with no experience is to be appointed head teacher of a new primary school with her stated intention of ignoring the curriculum.

Free school head without any teaching qualifications plans to ignore curriculum | Education | The Observer

Annaliese Briggs, a former thinktank director who has previously advised the Conservative/Lib Dem government on its national primary curriculum, is due to take up her role as Principal in one of London's new "free schools" - schools in which 10% of teachers have no teaching qualification.

Would you adopt Conservative education plans for Ireland?

    OMG...is that a joke?

will she fly with an airline with unqualified pilots, go to a hospital with unqualified doctors & nurses?

    will she fk!!!

qualifications exist for a reason. especially with education and other important areas where meeting a set standard of skills is necessary to do a job.

Will she be doing any actual teaching? If not, then she has no qualifications for a job she won't be doing anyway, right?

There is no way this is going to go well.

What do the teaching methods of ED Hirsch Jr entail?

It kinda depends, there was an accountant who taught at our school and he wasnt qualified but he was bloody good and we appreciated his real world experience, lord knows accounting is dull enough at the best of times.
there is no reason to suggest that its the way to go but there could be good reasons for exceptions in cases like languages perhaps where a native speaker has a good track record but doesnt have UK teaching qualifications.

This woman clearly has political connections.

She is taking control of a school which is sponsored by a charity called Future. . . Which just happened to be setup by Tory schools minister. . Baron Nash.

She is deciding the curriculum and teaching methods, there is plenty of opportunity to do damage.

at the same time schools have reputations , if it beomes a school where instead of doing maths they ponder how numbers "make them feel" then I dont think too many parents would want to send their kids there.
