Default The Untold History of The United States by Oliver Stone

The 10 part series starts on Sky Atlantic in the next few weeks.I have watched the series and it is very good a real eye opener for most people.Stone doesn't take the usual high school history lesson or traditional history books, as a Vietnam veteran himself he lays bare America's military history.Historian Peter Kuznick was also a major player in this project it details American foreign and domestic policy over the last ninety years.

In episode two the political battlefield around Roosevelt,Henry Wallace and Truman I found great.Just how closely Henry Wallace came to becoming president, and how differently history might have turned out if he had.The power the Unions had and the deal that was eventually done. This series is a must see for anyone interested in politics or history, well done Stone and Kuznick for a great series.

Armed warfare against trade unionism was the norm then.

Sure can't we trust the rich to protect our labour rights? What's the point of a union?

    Stone is full of it.

I watched the entire series which was briefly put up on youtube.

It is just one long stilted anti-American rant.

He glosses over the crimes of the Soviet Union and the threat they faced to the US and the rest of the democratic world during the Cold War.

He even gets the opportunity to peddle his tired JFK conspiracy theories once again.

Henry Wallace had been vice President for four years and was about to be re-elected he had the votes during the convention but the Conservative and big business side of the democrats didn't want him.So they put the vote off, and then worked on Roosevelt to side line his vice President and friend Wallace which he then did.

Not a huge surprise you didn't like it.... Rambo or Missing in Action would suit you better!

Stone believes Lee Harvey Oswald was a patsy for a conspiracy involving the CIA, the Mod and anti-Castro Cubans to kill JFK so that LBJ could get the US into Vietnam or something.

    He is a total moonbat.

I hope it deals with the US carpet bombings of North Korea and Cambodia. At least one million korean civillians died from this while Cambodia is the most bombed county of all time. The US dropped more bombs on Cambodia than they dropped on Germany and Japan combined.
