Default What kind of Europe are we heading for?

The kack handed management of the European banking crisis, the most recent development where basically 60%+ of deposits of over 100k are being taken to pay off the banks debts and the emergence of punatively high property tax here in Ireland in line with other European countries seems to be pointing to a Europe where the government(s) of Europe seems to view its citizens money as its own and also confuses that money with the gambling debts of banks regulated by European governments.

It would appear that prudence and independence are not characteristics the collective governments of Europe plan to reward, but will punish by giving themselves access to your savings and pensions to meet their excessive spending.

Consumption and reckless speculation seem to be the traits our European masters seem to be most interested in - only those with nothing will be truly free from the risk of having governments dip into your pocket.

    Heading for???

    Pension robbing, check.

    Bank deposit robbing, check.

    Overthrow of elected leaders, check.

    Bullying of smaller nations, check.

    It's already happening.

I know "it's happening" but what I don't know is what "it" really is and what the end game is shaping up to be.

You could be forgiven for joining the dots and coming to a conclusion that The EU is reverting to a feudal aristocracy.

But surely that can't be correct...right?

Make the sheep vote until they get the right result for the advancement of the european super state. Democracy is dead and buried in Europe.

I recall posting a year or so ago remarking on the huge TV screen on the foyer of the EU building in Brussels being a bit 1984-ish alright, during the RTE guys piece it kept on looping through clips of Barosso.

Europe could become a real sh1thole if this slide continues, completely at odds with Irish rebellious streak....we may not be best served by sticking at it just to be good Europeans

The EU commission / ECB are on course to bankrupt everybody in the Eurozone, with the possible exception of Germany.

Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Cyprus have already been driven to it.

    Slovenia is next.

    Belgium's finances are extremely dodgy.

The Netherlands and Finland are at the end of debt accumulations driven by ECB monetary policy.

And France is heamorraging employment, and in serious trouble also.
Coveney's ambition is the be Ireland's next EU Commissar and Ireland will pay a price as he builds his CV to position himself sufficiently loyal to the nEU empire.

Isn't it gas that Barosso is still the president, having overseen this whole mess?

Our own Labour party do crap in a by-election and we start talking about scalps, EU destroys 5 economies and not a peep.
