Default Cyber attack slows global internet service...

My connections to the Internet have seriously slowed down in the last few days

    - anyone else having problems?

One of the largest ever cyber attacks is slowing global internet services after an organisation blocking "spam" content became a target, with some experts saying the disruption could get worse.
Spamhaus, a London and Geneva-based non-profit group which helps weed out unsolicited "spam" messages for email providers, said it had been subjected to "distributed denial of service" (DDoS) attacks on an unprecedented scale for more than a week.

Just so long as there is no delay in shutting down certain sites, we'll survive.

It's a war between spamhaus (a volunteer (some say vigilante) group who fight spammers) and a preposterously self-important and highly self-rregarding ISP based out of the Netherlands. They specialise in the dark stuff. If you're a nerd like me, reading about the mechanics of these attacks is quite fascinating.

I really hope Spamhaus defeats Cyberbunker in this denial of service attack.

There have been serious allegations about what Cyberbunker really hosts. I personally do not believe there denials.

Today Spamhaus was being hit by over 300 gig of data per second and the amount appears to be rising.

I am really glad to see Google and other companies as well as some others giving their bankdwidth over to Spamhaus to help in fighting this blatant denial of service attack by Cyberbunker and there Eastern European gangs and traffickers.

I would ask everyone to also support Spamhaus and their allies in defending against this attack whereby Cyberbunker and there criminal allies have thrown everything they have at them.

This is one of the very rare cases of no shades of grey in an event.

For once this is literally a case of good versus evil.

Spamhaus has withstood an attack that would have taken out military grade computer protection with ease and is still standing.

I salute Spamhaus in there fight and hope they prevail.

There is nothing nice about Cyberbunker.

Agreed. The guy who runs it seems to be every bit as insufferably self-regarding as Assange.
