Default Liberalism: The dominant ideology in the world today?

Liberalism appears to be all powerful in the 21st century. Firstly let me define what I consider liberalism to be. The two types are
    1. Economic liberalism: This is essentially free market capitalism and private ownership
    2. Social liberalism: This is essentially promoting the individual and supporting the right of the individual to do anything they wish as long as it does not violate the harm principle ie. do drugs, gay marriage etc.

The social democratic economy as an alternative has collapsed. The Democrats in the US or Labour in Britain do not make any effort to challenge economic liberalism anymore. Economic inequality is considered normal or even good. Conservatism is in the crisis. Conservative ideas on family, religion, homosexuality are openly mocked in western society. Even David Cameron is now a liberal. Essentially the western world today has become a liberal free for all where gay marriage is considered a human right but homelessness or starving children are ignored. This is what I call selfish liberalism or bourgeois liberalism. Is this the world that other people experience?

In America most Dummycrats don't even pay lip service to the tens of millions living in poverty. Gay marriage on the otherhand is something they can't shut up about. Its no different in this country where Labour doesn't even pretend to care about non union private sector workers.

You are obviously referring to modern left liberalism, which is a socialist bastardisation of classical liberalism.

My flavour of classical liberalism or libertarianism, just for your benefit, is the "stay the phuck off my property and mind your own business or i'll blast you away" type liberalism, rather than any softly softly varient

First off- when you say ''in the world''- what does that mean?
1st bold point- Most definitely not
2nd bold point- Significant inequality is not seen as good by the general population.
The world is a very puzzling place. If you're not willing to be puzzled, you just become a replica of someone else's mind.

That's because it doesn't go against the interests of those that control them.

I know part of me should be outraged given the gun control debate in America. But I want one of those signs for my house.

There is no such thing as free market capitalism. Whatever liberalism is, it is not that.
