When I heard that on the news, it sent a little shiver down my spine.

And I'm a rational person with a scientifc education who understands how safe nuclear power today actually is.

A friend worked there in the labs years ago. Their heating system died and powers to be took their time fixing it. She left shortly after coz she simply couldn't stand the cold or the incompetence.

Sellafield Ltd said the move, which came as snow and high winds affected
Cumbria, was to allow staff to leave early and get home safely.

It said the shutdown was nothing to do with the work at the site and there
    were no safety issues.

Road and weather conditions across Cumbria are awful today, Jack.

I am prepared to believe them when they say it is precautionary.
