Default The position of Courts Reporter at RTÉ

Previously, Orla O'Donnell was RTÉ's Legal Affairs Correspondent (LAC). Her successor is Vivienne Traynor, who is known as the Courts Reporter.

I am puzzled as to why Ms Traynor is not referred to as LAC. Is a journalist who is referred to as a reporter paid less than a journalist who is referred to as a correspondent?

Don't know about that. I thought Orla was still the incumbent. Vivienne has worked there for several years as the courts reporter - like Paul Cunningham is the Europe reporter and Tony Connelly the Correspondent...

As far as I know, O'Donnell is still the LAC.

Vivienne's a beautiful woman. Smart too. Justin be a lucky boy.

For those who might have wondered, Ms O'Donnell is on maternity leave.

    So congratulations to her.

Nice to know someone cares or at least vaguely noticed. I'm on maternity leave
