Default #VINB Sam Smyth Wed 20/3/2013: Cyprus and bankers

    Tonight with Sam Smyth

    Constantin Gurdgiev, Economist https://twitter.com/GTCost
Ursula Tipp, Lawyer Leman Solrs https://twitter.com/UrsulaTipp
Kieran O‘Donnell, FG TD Limerick https://twitter.com/kodonnell2011
    David Cullinane, SF Senator https://twitter.com/davidcullinane

What is going on with Cyprus? Are the Russians now going to bail it out? Will banks there ever re-open, now that they’ve added nearly another week of bank holidays? A while ago Paul Sommerville tweeted:
At every stage the EU has protected the financial elite at expense of the citizens.

But what do you think, and what does the panel have to say about the sorry state of affairs with Cyprus at the moment? Just how will they get out of the current mess? And does our own Minister for Finance share some of the blame, seening as this happened during Ireland’s Presidency of the EU?

Good panel lined up for tonight’s show, so it should be well worth watching …

Cyprus and the Bankers. Is that a band?
Cry your hardest now, it opens the lungs, washes the countenance, exercises the eyes and softens down the temper. So cry away.

Ursula, the German lawyer with the same rat like look and sneering attitude as Lucy, come to think of it, have they ever both been seen in the same room at the same time?

Now thats an interesting thought,If the Russians bail out Cyprus in return for certain consessions(oil/gas),couldn't we do the same by tearing up the "Shell Deal"and maybe opening up a bidding war between Russia and China for our mineral wealth
