    Default #VINB Mon 11/3/2013: Property tax; Mortgage restructuring

    Tonight Vinny looks at the two financial items being talked about today:
    * Property tax
    * Targets on mortgage restructuring.

    He is joined by a small, but interesting panel, well able to talk about both of these topics with a good degree of knowledge. Should be a very interesting discussion … and should Clare get stuck into Brendan who knows how the discussion will end up …

    Property economist with Daft.ie Ronan Lyons says the value in the Revenue Commissioners' online guide to the new property tax is only based on property type, which presents problems. The Revenue Commissioners said its online guide should not be relied upon in isolation.

    This is a self-evaluation tax, and that the responsibility for supplying an accurate house evaluation ultimately lay with the owners who should use the Revenue's valuation guide, which gives an average for an area, along with the property price register and what estate agencies are quoting, to build up the best picture of what properties are worth.

    It is estimated for all homeowners to receive the details of the amount of tax owed from Revenue could take up to four weeks.

    No Ming? Strange.
    Cry your hardest now, it opens the lungs, washes the countenance, exercises the eyes and softens down the temper. So cry away.

    Ming is getting his crib notes together for his performance in the Dail tomorrow when he'll be doing a LOT of explaining--when you're explaining you're losing as they say....

    Anyway, he'll be burning the midnight oil tonight....maybe burning a restorative herb too to settle the nerves....
