Default Magnificent jerkery from the UK Times on the Daily Show

Just amazing stuff from the times today. Jon Stewart leaving the Daily show for 2 months to direct a (probably bad) movie. He's being replaced by John Oliver, long time Daily Show on air contributor, and star of...the smurfs. But anyway, the times ran this as the story:

Unknown British comedian to fill in for Jon Stewart on The Daily Show

The broadcaster Jon Stewart has been called the most trusted man in America: an Edward R Murrow for the cable news generation who speaks four nights a week from his pulpit on The Daily Show and is idolised by liberals from coast to coast.
This summer viewers will instead be greeted instead by a bespectacled comedian from Birmingham with untidy black hair and untidier British dentistry.
Previous jobs held by Oliver? Podcast host of the Bugle distributed by Timesonline until he as fired for being scathingly critical of rupert Murdoch and the phone hacking nature of his publications.

    Top top stuff Times.
I'm living in America, and in America, you're on your own. America's not a country. It's just a business. Now f***ing pay me.

Not as good as it used to be. American audiences are painful. Have you ever been to a cinema in the US?

I know, I know. A bit dopey from beer. It's strange the way we waste so much time on the Vinny show instead of watching Jon.

    Were you never an adolescent?
Abortion is an act of violence. Violence demeans humanity, particularly violence against women and children.
