Default Think Italy is a Cliffhanger - Greece is looking like a real life "The Nazis a warning from History"!

Just as a tweet came in linking to the story below, another poster added the photo to an Italian Election thread.

Apparently its from a Golden Dawn rally last month, which looks extremely big.

The story below is most un-nerving....

If the EU is going to change something, they need to change it yesterday. We even have problems burying the dead because people cannot afford the funeral expenses. Refrigerators in the morgue were filling up with bodies until the church said that it would offer free burial for some families.

Greece: "A promise from the army has been obtained to not intervene against a civil uprising"

Can Europe's bungling politicians put a lid on this mess quickly enough?

Will this turmoil end or worsen?

On another thread devoted to Nationalism the theory was advanced Nationalism "holds back" development. Here is the proof that is wrong. When Greece had the dracma the value of the dracma was based on the behavior and values of the greeks. It reflected their ethos. Go to the Euro now everyone is the same, the laid back Greek and the anal retentive German use the same currency that has the same buying power. How could that ever be sustained? Now, everyone but Greeks are running Greece. Not a good thing.

Were Golden Dawn this big during Pre-Euro- I doubt it.

I'm not blaming the Euro but they are to an extent & they are growing...

I think that at this stage it should be clear that the Pee Flynns of Europe are capable of responding to this with

    condescension,
more austerity for the working people,
    more bailouts for the rich,
more directives that add to the problem.

The clowns in Brussels who created this, are not going to solve it.

I mean ask yourself this - in what crisis would you want MGQ on duty - even when she had far more energy than she has now ? We are talking about the Minister for the Shannon stopover.

That is before we discuss snouts in the trough like Gay Mitchel, Brian Crowley, Joe Costello. The whole project is too big to suceed, and the people running it are telling us that it is too big to fail.

Oh...and plus....Ireland holds the EU Presidency...and we are depending on Gimmemore and Lucinda to lead on the issue.

Remember when the Greek Socialist PM Papandreou wanted to have a referendum on the second Greek bailout (of mostly French bankers), Sarkozy threw the toys out of the pram, and Lucinda decreed that Papandreou should not do that because "that's like throwing a hand grenade into the matter".

They have done everything to disempower the people, and to centralize power into the imperial power centre. They pushed the Greeks to despair. Incompetent clowns the lot of them.
Coveney's ambition is the be Ireland's next EU Commissar and Ireland will pay a price as he builds his CV to position himself sufficiently loyal to the nEU empire.

If their handling of the Euro crisis is anything to go by, they couldn't put a lid on a jamjar.

Think that photo is from a memorial march held every year to remember some of their soldiers who were shot dead by Turkish troops iirc. Not everyone in attendance would necessarily by a GD member.
