Default Moody's downgrades UK credit rating.

Breaking news this, announced on BBC News at 10. UK loses its AAA rating. Now AA1.

We might see euro-pound parity within weeks.

    Default Moody's Downgrade UK

A breaking story on the WSJ; Moody's downgrade the UK to AA1. This has never happened before, not even on Black Friday. In my view, a very serious turn of events for us all.

Well, that's what they get for joining the Euro.

Seriously, is this the final end for Cameron and his government?

Expect w*nkers like Ed Balls to make hay as if he and his cretinous colleagues had nothing to do with the predicament Britain is in...

Labour in Britain are as bad as the eFFing traitors are here... total hypocrites...

Peter Hitchens spelled it out nicely on Question Time last night...

Britain has lived beyond its means for decades and now it's time to pay the piper...

And Britain is far from the only culprit...

What we are witnessing is the start of a long decline of the western world and it's going to go on for years and probably decades yet...

    "Broadly in line with expectations"?

I wonder if this will have any effect on the bye-election?

Tories losing that anyway, but will the Lib Dems take a hit from this too?

Indeed you are right - Labour were an unmitigated disaster. Though that doesn't excuplate the coalition for the wrong-headedness of their uber-austerity approach, which doesn't work. But yes, it sticks in the craw to see Labour politicians attempting to take the moral high ground.
