Default Joan Burton abandons speech in Dundalk

Minister Joan Burton had to make a quick exit today whilst making a speech in a local shopping centre as hundreds of Anti-Austerity protesters turned up.

I've no link at the moment as it only happened in the last hour.

A Labour Minister should not have to be confronted by the poor

    Abandoned her speech? Poor thing.

"Will somebody please think of the speeches"?

You have no idea of what Joan Burton has been confronted with during her political career.

Terry Prone must be gutted. 15 minutes of careful speech-crafting amid a few gurns in the mirror and all down the drain.

Never mind. She can recycle it for the Minister for Health.
