Default IT: Door is open for Ireland to join NATO - Rasmussen

Fresh from throwing themselves at the feet of the ECB and Goldman Sachs appointee, Mario Draghi, our spineless and treacherous FG/Lab govt. are hosting the head of the world's largest military bloc, NATO. Mr Rasmussen has stated that the door is open for Ireland to join. While it is the long held fantasy of Blueshirt EU groupies like Creighton & Co. for Ireland to become involved in future colonial adventures. How much support would such an endeavour have among the public?

Door is open for Ireland to join Nato, says military alliance's chief - The Irish Times - Mon, Feb 11, 2013

Surely for such a move to happen, it would need popular support as well as a referendum I would gather.

    Why not?
What have British in Ireland contributed to Ireland? Nothing of the scale that the Irish have contributed to Britain. - Runswithwind.

No new toys for the military while we're broke please.

Nato is pointless in this day and age.

Has the door to Ireland joining Nato ever been closed since the creation of the group?
I'm living in America, and in America, you're on your own. America's not a country. It's just a business. Now f***ing pay me.

My understanding is that the only country ever declined Nato membership was Russia, which applied in the 1990's.

The NATO elephant will be so relieved that the Irish fly has thrown it's weight behind it.

How may colonies has NATO and where are they? NATO mind you, not the UK or France, just NATO.
