Default Will Peter Mathews lose the FG whip or should he resign it ?

Peter Mathews has been ignored by the government , now he's delivered a short but scathing speech:

Dukes confirms the IBRC board 'has been liquidated' - The Irish Times - Wed, Feb 06, 2013
Fine Gael backbencher Peter Mathews criticised the appointment of KMPG as liquidators of IBRC and said there was no moral or legal obligation on Ireland to pay the banks debt.

He pointed out that the firm was the auditor for Irish Nationwide, which lost €6 billion on a balance sheet of only €10 or €11 billion.
    And he missed votes :

Peter Mathews missing from Dail for three votes after three minute speech where he said no legal obligation to pay this debt.
So is it time for him to go ? Will he be disciplined/pushed ?

He'll be disciplined alright...loose the whip or whatever!!

Although seems he's ignored by most of FG anyhow!!

He's like George Lee a bit....loads of knowledge about economics but NONE about party politics!!...
When a man sits with a pretty girl for an hour, it seems like a minute. But let him sit on a hot stove for a minute and it's longer than any hour. That's relativity.

It should have been liquidated in the first place as in Iceland with Lansbanki without the taxpayer taking on its debt. It was a private entity so why did we have to bail it out? If the EU were so concerned about it then they should have bailed it out.

And no he shouldn't lose the whip. Only 5% of US Congressional votes are whipped, compared to 95% here. It's more of an elective dictatorship than a democracy.
    Real News.

The Dail whip system is medieval - missing votes when present causes them to go nuts !

He is a breath of fresh air in Leinster House---long may the people of South Dublin return him to the Dail.

If he is to retain any credibility he has to resign the whip. He owes FG nothing.
