    The report of the committee investigating State involvement with the Magdalene Laundries between 1922 and 1996 has been published. Four congregations ran Magdalene Laundries:
    * Sisters of Our Lady of Charity
    * Mercy Sisters
    * Sisters of Charity
    * Good Shepherd Sisters.

    Minister for Justice, Alan Shatter, said the report covers a broad range of substantive areas.

    These include:
    * the routes by which women entered the Magdalene Laundries
    * inspection of the Magdalene Laundries as workplaces covered by the Factories Acts
    * financial assistance to the Magdalene Laundries
    * detailed statistical analysis and much more.

    Tonight’s show should be an interesting one, with a good panel. Worth viewing …

    Another tragic episode in our history. Well done to all those 'mighty men' who handed the reins of power to a few clerics.

    Thanks Dev for all you have done.

    He tried to get people from the govt on. Given they have over 100 TDs, there is no excuse for none of them coming on.

    Shatter thinks some of the interns should not be considered unfortunate. What he really means is that they will not be compensated.
    We are compensating the Banksters.
