Do we need new laws to protect Children form Cults?
Children are very vulnerable and impressionable and are completely at the mercy of superstitious groups who wish to induct them into cults.
Cults are enormously damaging to children.
Government seems indifferent to protecting children form the influence of cults. What can be done about this?
Cults seem to be one of he main abusers of Children in Ireland.
How to identify a Cult!
Some might suggest a Cult is a religious organisation too small to field it's own army.
Religious cults are over the top in demanding unquestioning obedience to the Cult leader or cult organisation.
■ Religious cults seek to separate members from Non-Members and alternative viewpoints. Recruits may be under pressure to break relationships with former friends and even close family members. Former cult members are shunned.
■ Religious cults demand that members focus their whole social life round the cult avoiding or limiting outside social activity.
■ Religious cults require heavy sacrifices from members. Members are required to give large amounts of money or time to the organisation

DR. ROBERT J. LIFTON'S CRITERIA FOR THOUGHT REFORM
Any ideology -- that is, any set of emotionally-charged convictions about men and his relationship to the natural or supernatural world-- may be carried by its adherents in a totalistic direction.
But this is most likely to occur with those ideologies which are most sweeping in their content and most ambitious or messianic in their claim, whether a religious or political organization.
Andwhere totalism exists, a religion, or a political movement becomes little more than an exclusive cult.
