Also in studio to discuss youth suicide and mental health, in general, are:

The rate of suicide among young men in Ireland is one of the highest in Europe, a major new report has warned.

An estimated 165 young men took their own lives in the Republic in 2011 – out of a total of 525 suicides – while another 72 young men died by suicide in the North.

The stark statistics are revealed in the first All-Ireland report on young men and suicide which was published on 23/1/2013.
Should be an interesting discussion, in general, and especially for parents, teachers.

Pat: minister, with the closure of even more garda stations today in Cork, and the increasing violent burglaries around the country, should people be worried.

Alan: No, crime is down if we look at the figures I found, people are actually safer now than ever since Fianna Gael came to power.

Pat: Fine so. Join us in part 2 where we discuss another problem that does'nt exist.
