    Default Michael winner dies.

    Film director and newspaper columnist Michael Winner has died, aged 77, his wife Geraldine has confirmed. Winner was a character it seems throughout his career in Film and restaurant reviewing. Responsible for the DEATH WISH films 1-3 in the early 70's and other B style movies.

    Sad news for family and friends, I assume it was coronary disease or something along those lines?
    He had a very rich diet if his column was anything to go by.

    Apologies, he has been in bad health since eating a bad oyster and was given 18 months to live.
    Sounds horrendous, he was saying he might visit Dignitas to end it all.

    He stopped writing his Sunday Times column a month or two ago. I didn't know that he was so seriously unwell

    His column was a bit nutty but it was an enjoyable read. The readers comments were often hilarious and he seemed to enjoy taking the piss out of himself. He certainly was a character.
