As has been the case for a while now newly appointed teachers, nurses, doctors and consultants must now work for considerably less than their existing colleagues.
This has led to the removal of qualification allowances for teachers and nurses once on salaries of 26k reappointed on salaries of 22k.
All of this, of course, is sanctioned by a LABOUR minister - Brendan Howlin.
But what would happen if there were to be a by-election tomorrow?
Would the newly elected TD be subject to the same percentage wage cuts as the newly appointed teacher or nurse?
Apparently not. . .and they'd get to keep their expenses.
So why is the present day Labour Party (in the 100th anniversary of the 1913 Lockout) choosing to protect the well off at the expense of the poor?
