Default Troika wants to Cut PS Pay??

The troika has insisted that pay cuts remain on the table for the public service. This was revealed today in a "leaked document". I suppose the government will now scrap Croke Park and claim that is what the troika want. The government has after all succumbed to every other troika demand and insisted we had no choice in the matter. The troika made us do it.

It is also claimed that the hiring of health specialists from abroad at cheaper rates has been suggested as a means to address the chronic spend in the health sector.
As the Coalition prepares to try and negotiate an extension of the Croke Park Agreement, the Troika wants pay cuts to be left on the table and wants allowances looked at again, as well as longer working hours.

Pay cuts for new entrants are firmly on the table for some time.

I don't think that the Government is taking nearly enough advantage of the IMF Occupancy of Ireland. They could introduce lots of tough, reforming decisions, and blame the Troika for them. Instead, they cower before the Professions, the Public Sector Unions and the Quango's.

The last thing we need is a general strike.

Why wouldn't the troika want that?

It doesn't affect them after all now does it.

Not going to happen but you could have rolling disruptions over a long period of time.

It would be amusing in a perverse kind of way.
If you continue to elect idiots in elections, don't be surprised when the result is an idiotic government.

After a deeply frustrating interaction I cant see that effecting much.....

I do in general respect the PS, and generally have gotten good service.

And very enlightening too, I'd imagine.
